FAQ Farm Stay

FAQ – Farm Stay at Nordgården

What is a farm stay at Nordgården?

A farm stay at Nordgården is a holiday where you take part in everyday life on a smallholding in  D.enmark

During your stay, you are invited to join simple daily routines such as feeding the animals and walking the animal rounds together with the host. The experience is informal and especially meaningful for children, who can explore, learn and be close to animals in a safe environment.

What is the difference between a farm stay and a holiday apartment?

At Nordgården, you can choose between two types of stays:

A farm stay includes shared activities and a gentle daily rhythm on the farm, where you can take part in life with the animals.

A holiday apartment stay gives you full flexibility to plan your days on your own, without participating in farm activities.

Both options include accommodation in your own apartment in the countryside.

Do we have to participate in activities?

No, participation is always optional.

You are welcome to join the animal rounds and shared moments, but you can also simply enjoy your stay at your own pace. Many guests find a natural balance between the two.

Is the farm stay suitable for children?

Yes – Nordgården is especially suited for families with children.

Children can move freely in safe surroundings, play in the garden, use the sandbox and trampoline, and take part in everyday farm activities.

What is included in the price?

For farm stays, the price includes:

  • Participation in farm activities
  • Energy costs
  • Final cleaning of the apartment

You stay in a fully equipped apartment with kitchen, bathroom and living area.

Optional extras such as breakfast and bed linen can be added when booking.

How long can we stay?

Farm stays usually have a minimum stay of 2 nights, with specific arrival days in peak seasons such as summer and holidays.

Holiday apartments with your own program offer more flexibility depending on the season.

What time is check-in and check-out?

  • Check-in is from 15:00
  • Check-out is by 10:00 (11:00 on weekends)

You are welcome to stay on the farm’s outdoor areas a little longer on departure day.

Can we bring pets?

Pets are only allowed by prior arrangement.

In some ground-floor apartments, it is possible to bring a dog for an additional fee, with specific guidelines during your stay.

Can we visit the animals on our own?

For safety reasons, access to the animals is only allowed during the planned animal rounds together with the host.

This ensures a safe and calm environment for both guests and animals.

How does payment work?

If you book more than 2 months in advance:

  • 30% is paid at booking
  • The remaining balance is paid 2 months before arrival
